If you want a reliable backup device, the Jaz drive isn't for you, However, if you're looking for a popular storage solution that offers large disks and an affordable price, you might take a gamble.
Working in the graphics industry, Jaz disks are something you'll have to deal with, if you need to send and receive disk between your clients and vendors, you'll most likely need a Jaz drive.
Need to get a 200 page catalog and all hi res files to a service bureau? Jaz is your answer.
I've seem some drives work flawlessly for years, and some die after a few months. Same with disks. Iomega seems to know this and they'll most likely replace things for you. Not exactly a viable solution in many cases.
I wouldn't trust my crucial backups to Jaz, but for sending large amounts of data to people on disk, it seems to fit the bill.
