| liberator76's Full Review: Iomega ZipCD CD-RW Burner |
First and foremost, I don't want to break my drive via a jinx, by praising it too much. With that said, now I would like to praise my drive. It has worked great from the start. The only problems that I have had with it have come from poor CDR discs. With a good disc, the Iomega drive is all that I hoped for. It reproduces CD's, err data quickly and easily.
The software included in the package is clear and easy to install. The copying process is straightforward and simple. Operating other desktop tasks while copying however, is not possible. This feature, with this generation of drives is more a help than a detriment. Friends who involve themselves in multiple desktop tasks while copying a CD, often create errors in the CD as a result. Perhaps in the future, when computers are faster, running multiple tasks may not create glitches, but on my machine, I am glad the temptation is not available.
The average CDR, CD holds 650 megabytes of information or 74 minutes of music. This makes for the creation of great "mix" CD's. You can also make "backups" for all of your personal hard disk data.
The Jewel case utility also lets you design the covers of your unique CD's. Many conventional CD covers can be found at websites like cdnow. If you are not creative, or do not have the time, you can just cut and paste away. But now I'm just getting ahead of myself.
