Pros: Ease of install, and packaged programing
Cons: kind of large to carry around in a backpack

I just reacently purchased a Iomega Zip CD-RW (external) so that when I get a lap top early next year I can move it between y PC and the lap top computer. I have to say that I was really impressed with the ease of the "plug & play" that I got from this unit. I had it installed within 5 min. out of the box. Im sure that your time might possibly vary with the position of your home PC, but it was very simple to install. Once installed, the program that it is packaged with is VERY EASY to use. I know that with some of the other CD-RW units that are for sale do not come with the Easy CD software that the Zip CD is packaged with. You can possibly download the program from www.download.com, yet Im not sure if it is compatable with all CD-RW.
Even tho the CD is a 4x4x8, this little burner is on fire. I made my new CD in about 20 min! And that was from start to finish. The ease of this unit on installiton and programing has made me glad that I purchased this rather than the HP external that I was going to buy. And to top it all off, it was $30.00 cheaper than it as well!! Any questions, just E-mail me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Well, as you can see, I had no problems with the CD-RW that I purchased, and I was happy until I was told that we were no longer going to be getting a laptop computer for the college classes that I was going to take, so the External was removed and replaced. All in all it was a very good burner, yet the new internal that we traded it in on is MUCH faster. If you like, you can check out my other epinion on the HP 9300 internal CD burner.
If you are looking to use for a laptop or another portable device, this is great. If you are looking to get performance and can install an internal...go that route. You will be very happy with the improved performance.
