Discribe Sucks, but there is a solution. (Reply to this comment)

I too found Discribe to be the biggest piece of $#!+ software I've ever used. However, I decided to invest in Adaptec Toast Deluxe, which has made it incredibly easy to burn CDs. My suggestion is that Sony should get a clue and bundle the OEM version of Toast with it's burners from now on.

In addition to ruining the OS on a Mac, it also has a fun time with Windows 2000 Machines. When you install the software, the drive is recognized by the OS but the Recording software cannot see it. Also, you can no longer put your machine into a standby mode. Something to do with pxhelper.sys. I file that gets installed during the burner installation.
