| PikaCow011's Full Review: Sony SPRESSA USB Burner |
I do not quite understand what other people's problem is with the Sony Spressa CD-RW USB 4x/4x/6x CD burner. I use one on my Macintosh G4/350 and it has always worked fine.
I bought it at Comp USA for $350. It was a pretty good deal, considering it was plug and play and came with software and a CD labeling kit. I went home, plugged in the USB and power cables, and popped in the disk. Six minutes later (I timed it), I was copying a music CD!
The software included however, is terrible. It is called Sony Discribe, and is EXTREMELY hard to use! Fortunately, I had also bought Adaptec Toast Deluxe 4.0, which worked fine with it, and burned disks well. I do not know what it is like on the Windoze platform, however.
The burner is fast, small, external, and relatively cheap. It works fine for me! It can even change colors to match your Macintosh with the colored rubber "feet" for the outside of it (Sony mails them for free).
If you use a Mac, and need a CD burner, BUY THIS ONE! (but make sure to get Adaptec Toast with it)
