Handy Product but POOF no company=no support

| op1500's Full Review: SYQT SyQuest SparQ (SPARQ1AI-01) Drive |
I purchased two "Sparq" drives from Egghead (see FTC vs Egghead, a dream I have). Amazingly this was one of the very few no problem deals I had. These little guys are buzzing along happily in both my Win98 and WinNT machines. The install was painless for both and make great backup devices that the Seagate Backup Exec use flawlessly.
The only problem I have is should I ever need it customer support dose not look promising. If you go to syquest.com there are some disturbing statements in the FAQ such as:
9. Since trading was suspended last November, what can I do with my SyQuest stock?
SyQuest stock (NASDAQ:SYQT) was formally delisted from the NASDAQ exchange in January 1999. SyQuest recommends that you contact your financial advisor, tax attorney or other qualified professional regarding the disposition of your stock.
10. What happened to the rebate coupon I sent in to SyQuest?
Unfortunately all pre-petition (Chapter 11 filing on Nov. 17, 1998) debts and liabilities are under the bankruptcy court's jurisdiction. The only chance to recover any portion of your rebate would to be file a claim directly with the court.

Claims should be submitted as soon as possible. Include all supporting documents, i.e., receipts, correspondence, etc. Our understanding is that May 5, 1999 was the last day to submit claims.
I hate to see any good product maker go under. I have no idea if Iomega bought them or if any support is actually being provided. The good news is I have never needed support for them and do not anticipate needing any in the future.
Bottom Line, I find them reliable and easy to use plus I got them and 2 disks each at a good price.
