Warranty problems

Pros: cheap on E-bay

As a follow up to my previous two postings, I would recommend that this product not be purchased under any circumstances.

According to Syquest, they are only providing warranty for those units sold by itself or one of its approved distributors. I bought my drive from a vendor on E-bay. According to Syquest records, my drive was originally sold to a distributor in 1998 and sat on the distributors shelf until sold to the person I bought it from on E-bay. Since I did not buy it directly from Syquest or one of its distributors, the one year warranty is no good according to Syquest.

Other problems encountered are bad media. A bad cartridge can destroy the drive. This is probably what destroyed my drive.
