| michelesimmons's Full Review: AcerScan Prisa 320P Flatbed Scanner |
First you should know that I originally HATED scanners , all scanners !!
I begged people to scan images for me . Then a friend of mine brought me this little flatbed scanner, an ACER PRISM 320P , to be exact.
So I gritted my teeth and began to "install it" on my computer. Less than 5 minutes later I was finished. But , sceptic that I am , I just knew it couldn't be that simple , so I tried to scan my niece's picture and it worked !!! Not only that , but I needed to order some replacement parts for an above ground pool , but there were no numbers - so I scanned them , and the picture was good enough that the pool manufacturer was able to identify the parts . ( I faxed them to him, but that's another story)
This scanner is almost too easy to use. The software installed in no time , the pictures are very clear , the Ulead Software allows you to sharpen , trim , rotate , etc...
And , just like the pool parts, this flatbed can scan almost anything !
This Scanner is definitely worth every penny , and is much easier on the pocket book than many competing brands.
UPDATE : 6/24/00
I've been using the scanner for several weeks now , and still maintain that this is one of the best, if not THE BEST scanner in its price range.
Compared to the Canon Multipass ( also in use in our office )the picture quality is nearly equal , the scan time is slightly faster , and I can scan 3d objects , something i can't do on the Multipass (LOL) .
UPDATE 7/2/00 : I have discovered that I am scanning at 72dpi at 100% . The pictures are quite good , although if it is a large picture it can be a little slow . I have also discovered the "projects" module and have made several Magazine Covers that were very easy to set-up and execute , AND impressed my Mom & Dad ! Software that is included is :Ulead iPhoto Express, Textbridge classic, Kai's Photo Soap II SE, and MiraScan Driver.
