| Volcomgal's Full Review: AcerScan 620S Flatbed Scanner |
When scanning 35mm photos I don't think any scanner can exceed the quality of the Acer. If you're scanning for web pictures, then a 300dpi resolution is more than adequate for a quality picture and the scan time is very short. If you want to scan at a higher resolution for prints, this option is available, along with different scaling settings, and a multitude of other settings. All of which are easy to understand and work exceptionally well. For pictures, this scanner can't be beat. Another plus is the fact that it can be purchased on Ubid.com. Most bids on it don't exceed $59 and with shipping the total cost was $83. Then there's a $20 rebate, so you end up paying $63 for a $199 unit. It was purchased mainly for scanning pictures and copying text (unchanged). Another software came with the scanner--Ulead's Photo Express Version 2.0. I have opened the scanner software from 3 different Imaging programs and it works flawlessly with all of them. I know if you try this unit you'll be happy with, especially first time users because of it's easy to use software.
