This scanner out performs the others in the list. Even the more expensive scanners. I have used this scanner many times and it has never let me down. The results are stunning. I do photo editing and retouching old photographs as a hobby. This scanner has it all. It installs quickly and is very quiet. The huge plus of this scanner is the USB feature. You can load the software and simply connect the scanner. It is detected right away and is ready to be used.
It can scan at 9600dpi x 9600dpi and up to 19200dpi x 19200dpi with the bundled software. It has the ability to scan tiny photos right up to a full 8x10. I know many people who use this scanner and they are all greatly pleased by it. If you are a little nervous about features and think that you are getting something that you will not use, do not worry. Every friend who has purchased one has had nothing but praise for this amazing piece of equipment. It uses very little power and while it is idle, it turns that lamp off to help save energy. The warm-up period is about 10 seconds. An average scan of a wallet sized photo at 300dpi takes about 15 seconds and then about 20 seconds to render it. This will depend on the machine it is connected to though. If you are looking for a great scanner at a very reasonable price, then go for it.
