One Touch Says it All

Pros:Great quality, speed, and software
Cons:Nothing here
The Bottom Line: This scanner has all you need and it has exceeded my expectations. I am happy with the quality, speed, and performance, and would recommend it to those needing a scanner.

When my family first purchased the Visioneer 8100 One Touch Scanner, I was skeptical on how often I would use it, and how hard it would be to use. However, after owning it for several months, I have no complaints and find it quite easy to use.

Features- One touch says it all. On the scanner itself are 5 buttons that make using the scanner just that much easier. You can scan by pushing a large green button, without having to use any software. The same can be said with the large orange button which is used to stop/cancel a scan. Three other luxury buttons include the custom, e-mail, and copy/print buttons. If you do not like using the software, than this just makes your day a little easier. (5 stars out of 5)

Ease of Use- You can control what you want to do with the scanner with the buttons on the machine I mentioned above, or use the software. Either way you it is easy to use. On the software itself you can look at the picture as a preview before taking a scan, which is great to see if you really want to scan the picture. The software also has folders already made, or you make your own, which I did creating one under my name for use of all my pictures. You also have the option of what type of quality you would like your picture (i.e. black and white, fax quality). The Visioneer 8100 is great for faxes as well. (5 stars out of 5)

Multiple Uses- You can do so much with your pictures. Some examples of things I have done range from making CD covers to photo collages to party invitations. You can easily rotate your picture, or take away glare, brightness, contrast, etc. I have also sent important documents and pictures across the internet (with the help of the AOL Instant Messenger) to friends and family. Once you scan a picture it automatically takes the title of the date, but you can easily change it by double clicking on the title, and filling in whatever you wish. The sky is the limit as far as the different uses there are for the Visioneer. (5 stars out of 5)

Quality- I have had no problems with the quality of the scans or the machine at this point. (5 stars out of 5)

Speed- The scans do not take long at all, and the scan is relatively quiet compared to others I have heard. I would estimate it takes along the lines of 10-15 seconds or less for a scan to go through, its that easy. (5 stars out of 5)

Overall- I can not say enough good things about this scanner, and I can not say anything bad about it. It has satisfied my needs and more, and given me quality scans that I can not complain about. (5 stars out of 5)
