Pros: Great product by Altec Lansing. Very clear.
Cons: The wire connecting the two small speakers is somewhat short.
The Bottom Line: Very good product for the money. Great for gaming, music playing, and other uses.

I purchased these speakers with my computer that I purchased through http://www.mpi-pc.com. They cost me around $45.00 and I think they are great. You get a subwoofer with volume control and two small (yet pretty powerful) speakers.
I have a Aiwa stereo system, and while it only cost me about $150.00, I think these speakers sound much better. I play games such as Diablo II and Starcraft on my computer and the sound is much better on these speakers than any of the junky ones you get when you buy a new computer. I also have a small collection of MP3's that I play. I would definitely spend the $40 to buy these speakers.
While I am sure the $200 speakers you can get out there would sound better, I can not really tell the difference. I dont see the need to get anything more expensive than this product unless you are doing some kind of serious sound work with your computer.
I have had these speakers for over three years and they have never given me a problem. My only minor complaint is that the wire that runs between the two small speakers is "only" about four feet long. But I have the speakers on two far corners of my desk and the wire is long enough.
Installation is simple. You plug the two speakers into the subwoofer, and plug that into your computer (and a power outlet). They dont take up too much room on the desk either.
