| rexico's Full Review: Cambridge Soundworks C1MWBWEE 2 Speakers |
I had these speakers for about a year before upgrading and buying proper hi fi equipment.
I think the most important thing to say about these speakers is that they are a nice, inexpensive upgrade from the usual free ones which come with a computer. They greatly improve game, music and dvd performance on your computer.
The speakers and well built, and they appear to be sturdy. I think that they would last many years. The design fits in OK with a normal cream coloured computer, although looks are not the speakers’ forté. The only thing that annoyed me was the length of the cable and the inability to tie the cables away. I had the satellite speakers at either side of my computer (as I expect many people would) and there were still meters of cable behind my pc, making a real mess. In the end I had to tie it around the speaker stands, which made the speakers look really tacky. There should be some sort of device provided to tie away this excess wire.
The sound quality is very good. My only small complaint is that at high volumes the satellites can cope perfectly, but the sub is really distorted. Maybe slightly more of the $50 should go to the sub and slightly less to the satellites.
The speakers are very easy to set up. I had them going within about a minute of unpacking, so there are no problems there.
