Pros: Above average sound, compact design, nice to look at.
Cons: Volume adjuster on satellite speaker is a little flimsy
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend these speakers to someone who wants richer sound but doesn't want to go with surround sound yet. The speakers design, and sound are well above average.

I purchased these speakers at Staples for 48.00 including tax. They were part of a "package deal". I bought a QuickCam and the speakers were "free". Actually I went there to buy speakers so the QuickCam was the freebie to me.
The speakers are very easy to set up. The sub woofer has a PS2 style jack that the right speaker plugs into. The left speaker is just an RCA jack. I was impressed with speaker design and connections.
The software bundle included is geared toward MP3 junkies. While I think just wbout everybody is these days I don't feel that the bundled software is all that. Given that I don't generally expect to get software with speakers it was OK.
The sound range on the speakers is a little better than a typical set of desktop speakers. The sub adds a lot to the mix. There is a number of people that claim that these speakers are lacking in the mid range area but I disagree. They are not perfect there but they are acceptable.
I think my favorite part about the speakers, besides the nice sound, is the size. They are VERY compact. When I first removed them from the box I was a little nervous. After listening to a couple MP3's and playing a couple online games I was sold. Not only do these speakers take up 1/3 the space of my old ones but they really have nice sound as well.
