This set of speakers was the last purchase I made for my gaming computer. The stereo sound that comes out of these speakers is incredible for their size, and the bass is fantastic. I have heard better speakers but not for less than $100.00 more. These speakers bring DVD movies to life with crisp, clear and full stereo sound.
The most impressive thing about this speaker set is the bass unit. It is remarkably clean and doesn't distort, like others in its price range, when you pump up the volume. Games with loud explosions sound so realistic you could literally scare someone who didn't know you were playing a game.
My computer is customized from the ground up and the sound card I use is the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! X-Gamer. These speakers compliment this card to the maximum. DVD movies sound the way they were meant to sound. The only drawback to the DVD is the fact that these speakers are USB digital but to use the digital out feature of my sound card I have to plug into my stereo. But for using Dolby Surround they work fine.
The set that I bought was a demo model and I got a really good price on them. I paid $55.00 for the set, and since they were a demo, I didn't get any specification sheet on them and there is not wattage rating on the speakers themselves. I checked the manufacturers web site and the page with the specifications said they were 60W.
You may want to make sure you have enough room on your desk or computer table before you buy also because they do take up some space. You can set up the bass bin under your desk but this makes accessing the volume on the bass bin difficult. I set mine up under the desk and found a suitable volume for all uses and left it there. The speakers I mounted on little shelves above my monitor on my wall and this set up works well and sounds great.
Overall, I am happy with this speaker set and recommend it for gamers and multimedia lovers. I also suggest checking the price before you run out and buy them because as I said I got a really good deal and I'm not sure what the retail price is on these. The price on the product review page is $135 but I don't think that is correct either.
