| jeffs320's Full Review: Yamaha YST-M8 2 Speakers |
When I bought a cheap little EMachine about a year and a half ago, the speakers that came with it were horrible. I do not really need a great stereo system for my computer since I have a real Stereo for my house, but I need it to sound half ways decent for when I play games.
I went to Best Buy to see what kind of speakers I could get for around $20-$30. I was looking at the Yamaha Speakers, but they were more expensive than some other brand I was looking at next to it, and since I was being cheap, I was gonna go with the others. But Lo and Behold, there was a magical word on the Yamaha Speakers - "REBATE"!!! So I paid $30 for these speakers and got like $10 or $15 back on it!
For speakers of their size and price, I must admit I was impressed. The depth of the sound was much better than I would expect from a computer speaker. Listening to MP3's on the computer while I am working actually sounds pretty decent.
Now don't get me wrong, like I said I could really care less about the sound for stuff like that, and the only reason I bought the new speakers was that I couldn't hear much of ANYTHING from the ones that came with the computer. If you are worried about all that surround sound and junk, then buy an adapter to plug into the computer and you will be able to plug your home stereo into the computer. I have done that before, and it makes video games sound REALLY cool...
BUT, if you are looking for a relatively inexpensive, decent sounding set of speakers, then this is definitely the one I recommend.
