These Yamaha YS8TM speakers were a great deal for only $39 from Outpost.com. I purchased these as a complement for my new system for college and these have been a great investment for a tight budget.

Pros:
-Great sound quality for a mid-level speaker system.
-Reproduces highs very well.
-The front headphone jack is very convenient when your roommate is sleeping. The speakers amplify the sound better then directly plugging your headphones into the soundcard.
-Small, not bulky. Comes in two colors-black and white.
-The price. 39 dollars and free shipping from where I bought it.
-Great set of 2nd speakers if your don't want to shell out hundreds of dollars

Cons:
-Adequate Bass. Consider purchasing the subwoofer with it.

Overall, a great system for the price. A great investment for the college student!
