About 2.5 years ago I got my first computer. The speakers that came with my first computer system were basically the predecessors of the Altec Lansing power cube. Well, their satellites weren't so great and they blew on day when my dad was like playing music to loud or something. My dad went to staples and saw these for $40. They had the little jig where you could test them with music and they were far better than the other satellites (I already had a good woofer). He took them home and they were great on my Creative AWE 64 value sound card which at the time 2 years ago was a decent sound card and still works great today. I turn on the 3d effects and it sounded great. There is a volume knob and a tone knob so that you can adjust the way the sound is to fit you way of listening.
I still use these today and I'm sure I will be using them for many years more. These can be used as a great little kitchen stereo by connecting CD player line out to line in on back of these and plug the power in. You can listen to clear music anywhere with these.
