speakers that outperform the subwoofer

The low-quality HK195 speakers that came with my Dell purchase had already begun to fail before a year had gone by. I was looking into buying new speakers when my roommate pointed out an inexpensive pair of 10Watt Yamaha YSTM8 speakers to me. Knowing that Yamaha was a dependable name in sound quality, we both thought it would be worth looking into further.

After examining various product reviews online, and having been impressed by the specifications , I decided the speakers would be worth buying, especially in light of the discounted price.

I also bought the corresponding subwoofer. And after listening to the 3 piece system, I found that the speakers actually outperform the subwoofer.

As a college student who listens to thousands of MP3's and CD's, a good set of speakers is more or less a necessity. And who could ask for more than these Yamaha speakers for only $30?
