| cjh6386's Full Review: Yamaha YST-MS30 2 Speakers |
I highly recommend these speakers. Let's compare them to the highly popular Altec Lansing ACS33's. 5 watts more, 20 dollar mail in rebate, adjustable stands, larger subwoofer driver, more compact, and magnetic shielding (which the ACS33 does not). And Yamaha's Active Servo Technology (Advanced YST) makes the bass sound really great and accurate. It also has two input jacks, so you can hook up your computer as well as maybe a radio or video game system without having to take everything apart. Also, I have the sub right next to the monitor and there is no distortion whatsoever because the magnetic shielding is so good. They also come in a white or black color, unlike the ACS33's that only come in an ugly beige color. The cords are also long enough so you can place the speakers pretty much wherever you want in the room. And the 20 dollar mail in rebate took the price down to only 33 bucks. Overall, these compact speakers are very functional and stylish, and a very good value at only $32.99. If you don't trust me, you can trust the YST-MS30's 9 awards from various PC magazines or websites.
