Pros: Sound quality, durability, portability, dynamic range/response, good control, particularly at lower volume levels.
Cons: Wire length, though it's always a concern.

| pdxstraycat's Full Review: Yamaha YST-MS30 2 Speakers |
My brother-in-law brought his YST-MS30 speakers to a vacation weekend at a ski resort, and these speakers are surprisingly versatile. We hooked them up to an XM receiver and got great sound across multiple genres of music (metal, jazz, blue grass, 50s music, etc). We also plugged them into his computer and watched DVDs on a projector. The sound was excellent! We watched _Lord of War_ late a night with my parents asleep in the next room, and my 3 yo nephew asleep down the hall. It was loud enough for the effect, and we could hear ALL of the dialog cleanly without adjusting the volume. None of the sleepers awoke. They are quite powerful for their size, and quite portable.
In short, you can get decent room-filling sound out of these speakers and you can turn them way down and still have the dynamic response to hear everything clearly and cleanly.
