| axion978's Full Review: AOL (America Online) |
As harsh as it may seem, AOL is the worst Internet Service Provider I have come across. It seemed good because all my friends had America Online, but no sooner that I got it, that I wanted to get rid of it. AOL is in no way good for direct downloads from the internet, it is way to slow. People are constantly being kicked off line for no apparent reason and there is so much junk mail, that it takes you about 20 minutes to read and delete them all. I do not recommend getting AOL, if you are getting it for the Instant Messenger, then go and download the individual America Instant Messenger, if you are getting it for the mail, then I suggest going for a free service such as www.email.com, www.yahoo.com, or www.hotmail.com, they are all just as good and are free. For the internet, I suggest getting Juno, which is also a free ISP, or even better yet pay the extra 20 dollars a month and get DSL or Cable. AOL will never improve due to the number of new subscribers they get each week. No matter how many versions they come out with, they will always have the problem of "over population." AOL is most definitely not the way to go if you want the internet, there are many other Internet Service Providers out there, and most of them are better than America Online, yes, including the free ones. I highly recommend avoiding AOL at all costs.
