First of all i would like to thank Comcast for giving me the ability to download at these unbelievable speeds!! Okay, heres the deal you call Comcast, say you want a cable modem right now, and they will say okay an ask you a few simple questions about your computer so they will bring the right parts to make everything run smooth. Then they will be like. so hows next week sound, and of course you will be amazed at what just happened. The next thing they will tell you is the price, now don't get scared there will probably be a deal or 2 going on so you'll save big. When i got mine it was free installation, but the deal that is always going on is if you mention a customer of the @Home service like a friend or family member to give you their name so you will save $50 off and they will get a free month of service! When they get to your house, they use a combined team to save time, first comes the guy who runs the new fiber optic cable through your house using the existing hole from your regular cable. Then the software guy comes with the actual cable modem and the software to install it so all together it takes about an hour to install. After installation all i can say is prepared to be amazed especially if you are upgrading from AOL. I don't know about you but i was running around the house in excitement and in amazement on how long it took to get a Movie and an MP3. So good luck in your new software if you choose to do so!
