Will it work for you?
Probably not. At least not often. I kept my dial up service because my @home cable connection is down so often, or very slow. Other users in the same area use the same bandwidth as you, so if some kid on your block has napster, or some guy does a lot of video chatting, chances are, you might have a problem downloading some of your mail.
The customer service @home I use isn't very user friendly. They give you a convenient message when you call saying "the average hold time is so-and-so minutes" usually in the high fifties. So, sometimes I wait, sometimes I leave a message, after the next voice prompt. (Which says basically the next representative will call you on the same turn if you would have waited. I left my message, waited, got irritated and called back. I waited on hold, and finally got through and still no one had called me back.
Technology error? Honest error?
Probably not.
Stick with dial up. Sometimes it may be busy, but at least you're guaranteed a certain bandwidth. And it's all your own.
