Pros: Speed, no waiting for a dialup process, puts DSL,ISDN, 56k to shame
Cons: Lousy tech support! not available in all areas
The Bottom Line: Good product but the people who install it and troubleshoot it are very incompetant!

56k? nope. ISDN? nope. DSL? nope. Cable? YES!
For fast web surfing and speedy downloads, Comcast@home is the way to go! Using Comcast@home I have noticed that web pages load in a split second, Downloads are finished in seconds, and theres no waiting for the modem to dial a number.
While the service is excellent, their tech support sucks! For some weird reason the cable light on my modem started blinking. I couldnt get online at all. I called their tech support number and got one of those number menus. After navagating through about 5 or 6 of them a recording told me that "All our people are currently busy helping other customers please stay on the line" well that went on along with some elevator music for about 45 minutes.
After 45 minutes I finally got a human on the line and explained my problem to her. when I told her that my cable modem was acting funny she asked me "Whats a cable modem?" I can't believe that somebody working at Comcasts tech support doesnt even know what a cable modem is!!
I was transferred to another person after only a few minutes. He was more helpful but not by much. He finally "Repushed the signal" that was going to my modem. He said that it would take 45 minutes for the modem to receive the signal. He said to call back if it had not worked.
I waited 45 minutes. Nothing happened. I called back and the SAME guy said it took up to 3 HOURS for the signal to go through! So I wated for two more hours then called them again. The next guy I got ahold of said that no one had repushed the modem at all. I sat there pondering the competance of these people!
Well It's been two days and I have fixed the problem myself. The cable that Comcast had installed turned out to be bad. I found out that it was a very old piece of cable that was removed from another house and used in my cable setup. I have replaced it and now I am back online. If I had to have one of their techs come out they would have charged me close to $150.00 for a new modem!
