Pros: inexpensive, decent customer support
Cons: too much dialup traffic, lots of busy signals, frequent disconnects
The Bottom Line: EV1 has been advertising heavily in this area lately, and I think they're just getting too big, too quick. Too many people are connecting, and they can't carry the capacity.

| esau999's Full Review: Everyone's Internet (Houston) |
When I signed up with Everyone's Internet over a year ago, it was a great service: relatively few busy signals, rare disconnects, and cheap. It was much better than the service I received from AOL, my original ISP. However, about two or three months ago, I started seeing a significant increase in busy signals which I attributed to busier servers. I tried several different logon numbers but still would have to dial up 10+ times just to connect. This was really bothersome considering that EV1 advertises "no busy signals." Then, about a month ago, the service really started to deteriorate. Sometimes I wouldn't be able to connect at all. My download speed dropped to a fraction of what it had been two months ago. Often, when I was able to connect, I would be automatically disconnected within ten to fifteen minutes. Again, trying several different dialup numbers yielded no improvements. An email sent to EV1 about my problems and concerns went unanswered. Figuring that maybe it was my computer, I checked my settings and software; everything appeared to be in order. I also signed up with Earthlink and wasn't having any problems with connecting or with speed which led me to believe the problems were with EV1. To their credit, when I called to cancel, I did talk to a knowledgeable support tech (Frank) who gave me a few suggestions to help with my problems; however, it wasn't enough to fix the service I received.
