Freeserve was the first ISP in the UK to offer Internet access without a monthly fee. This was the reason I signed up with them because I wasn't sure how much I would use the Internet.
The service was quite good, but I couldn't connect on a few occasions. But what do you expect from an ISP with no monthly fee?
I recently signed up with Freeserve's 'off-peak' offer. With this offer I pay £5 a month and get Internet access between 6pm - 8am on weekdays and 24 hours a day on a weekend for which the calls are completely free.
This sounds like a great offer, but anyone considering it should be warned that it is very difficult to get connected at all on weekdays and after 6pm on weekends.
Freeserve say that they are dealing with this problem. I would not recommend that anyone signed up for this service until they have. Although if it does become easy to get connected it should be a very good all round service.
