The Bottom Line: If you phone bill for line rental and internet calls (ie excluding phone calls) is more than £60 it's worth switching.

I have used the following other ISPs as well as Freeserve: AOL, Demon, BT Click, Xstreme, IC24. I have been with Freeserve about 2 years.
IC24 was one of the best. It is free and you get free phone calls between 8-12pm everyday, although you do get cut off aftr an hour and very dificult to connect.
Unfortunately for me i like to surf between 6 and 8pm (outside IC24's free time) so I have chosen to use Freeserve's HomeTime. You pay £3.99 to Freeserve and £14.99 to BT (for the required Surftogether package). The £14.99 BT fee also includes your line rental, so basically it means that your phone bill will be £57 each quarter (+ phone calls). That's great if you spend a lot of the time on the net. My phone bill is usually £77 per quarter (which includes £3.00 call charges) so therefore I am saving roughly £17 per quarter.
Having unmetered access to the internet changes it into an all new ball game. If I was paying for the call I probably wouldn't waste time writing epinions, I have also also gained a penchant for online gaming such as Bingo (which is quite sad really : ¬ ) Again I wouldn't do this if the call was metered. The Freeserve Hometime service is a different number to the normal Freeserve no. It is quicker to connect, I haven't once received an engaged tone and slighter quicker internet speeds as well. You are disconnected after 2 hours.
