Pros: It's Free. It works. Supports Windows Mail better than its comrades.
Cons: Ad bar doesn't dock. That's about it.

| SwedishChef's Full Review: Juno |
I have bounced from free ISP to free ISP, and Juno is now my home and my favorite.
Whether you care about or want the free email access they offer, Juno's free ISP service is dead-on and reliable. I had been using Altavista FreeAccess for some time but was getting many errors trying to send email using Outlook or other clients who use the Windows mailbox protocol. This is a common problem with free ISP's -- it's something written into the program. NetZero suffers from it, and although Altavista had no such issue when I started with it, I am now no longer able to locate the outgoing mail server on my POP3 account.
Although Juno's client does run an adbar, it is neither large nor slow to respond in the same ways that Altavista's is. Nor does it have the sort of "health meter" found on Altavista or NetZero that forces you to click on ads to "stay alive." Although it does run a sort of client hosting program in the background, designed to offer you your Juno email inbox as part of a larger web service, this program has not eaten up my memory or slowed my system down in any way. Connections are reasonable, reliable, and fast, and I have never had a problem getting through.
I have two complaints, both of which are minor. The first was brought up by one of my fellow epinionites, which is the problem of the myriad survey questions that you have to go through to register your handle. But the only mandatory thing is that you answer something, and I quickly stopped paying close attention to what I was doing. Secondly, the ad bar does not dock against the side of the screen, which is mildly annoying, but still not a bad flaw in an overall excellent ISP.
