We have had Earthlink DSL for the past two years, and have been very happy with every aspect of our service.
When we first moved into our new house, cable was the only high speed internet connection available, so we signed up with the small, local cable company. Unfortunately, the service was often down, and we needed a more dependable high speed internet provider, since both my wife and I do freelance projects from our home.
Luckily, DSL became available, and we chose Earthlink as our provider. The online signup was swift, and a week later the necessary cabling and DSL modem arrived at our house with an easy to follow installation chart. Earthlink had already handled commissioning the DSL line from the phone company, and in literally ten minutes we were surfing the web with DSL instead of a cable modem.
Support has always been a strong point with Mindspring/Earthlink. We have only one extended outage (a couple of hours), and the phone support team was courteous with a quick reply to our questions. The only time we needed support (our router stopped communicating with the cable modem), the support staff walked us through making it all work together, even though they technically didn't support my router.
In all, Mindspring/Earthlink has been a dream. Installation was simple, support is fantastic, and the service is as fast and dependable as advertised. You can't go wrong with Earthlink DSL.
