Pros: You can surf and talk on the phone at the same time.
Cons: Could be faster like cable (at times) or T1. Available only in Canada.
The Bottom Line: So you can either sit at home with your slow dial-up modem, or you can go get Bell Sympatico High Speed Edition.

It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's Bell Sympatico High Speed Edition. Bell Sympatico High Speed Edition is one great modem! It sure beats the hell out of a regular modem! whether it's a 56.6 k modem or slower. It can go up to 120 kilobytes per second - that's 30 times faster than a 28.8 k modem. Bell Sympatico high speed edition is great for students, busy business executives, and any individual who works with the internet.
Sure you can say "cable is better", but some people don't have a cable outlet in every room, but there is a telephone outlet in every room. So if you are redecorating your house, and you want to move your computer someplace else, you don't have to worry about all the extension cables, and extra wires. Also Bell Sympatico High Speed Edition is always fast regardless of how many people are online, where your line is yours and yours alone; unlike cable, where the more people are online, the slower your connection is.
So with Bell Sympatico High Speed Edition you can surf the 'net, talk on the phone without a second phone line, and still keep the feeling of a DSL modem.
How It Works
Bell Sympatico High Speed Edition uses your existing phone line, to make the internet as fast, and pleasant as possible. When you make a phone call only 1% of the line is used, the other 99% are used for your fast internet experience. This tremendous power allows you to download files up to a speed of 120 kilobytes per second. I would say that for individual use this is perfect (unless you're a millionaire, and you can afford modems like T1, T3, etc.)
What you get
1. A 24-hour-a-day-7-days-a-week internet connection (unless of course you forget to pay your internet bill)
2. 5 MB of personal web space
3. Technical support all the time
4. Fast internet access, and file transfers(DSL)
I can't think of too much negative things to say about it, I would say that I got all the Negativity in the Cons.
It costs $40 per month in Canadian Dollars. And if you're still unsure about Bell Sympatico High Speed Edition you could try a free online speed demonstration in the link below:
