Pros: educational in multiple skill areas, relatively inexpensive

| preciousbaby's Full Review: Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego Classic |
Both of my kids have loved this game for several years. They've enjoyed it since grade school, and now they still enjoy it as teenagers. Heck, my son's in high school, and he still likes it too! Sometimes, we've gone to our neighborhood community center where all three of us can get on computers to play games at the same time, and Carmen SanDiego is one of our favorites. Yes, even Mom plays this one. I'm not quite as challenged as the kids, but sometimes it will even teach adults a thing or two! Also, it can help keep your mental faculties on the ball.
The kids have always learned several skills from this game. They learn to be more observant of details, their reading and memory improves, they add to their vocabularies, and sometimes they even get to learn a few words of other languages. All of this is besides the obvious geography that the game teaches.
If the kids are going to be glued to any electronic mode of entertainment, the computer is far preferable to the t.v. or Playstation, and Carmen SanDiego is one of the top games. It has no violence, nothing sexually suggestive, no foul language, the kids learn a lot, and they love it! What more can a parent ask for than a way for kids to learn that they enjoy? It would be a good investment at 3 times the price!
