I started out doing HTML on Homesite 1.2a, a LONG time ago. Back then the tool was still rather fresh and new to me and many other people. Now I have got a copy of 4.0 and LOVE IT!
I primarly use Frontpage 2000 or NetFusion Objects 4.0 to design sites, but when it comes down to getting into the code, editing things to my exacts, or putting in special code, this is the one program I trust all of my HTML to.
It has awesome color coating, not like Frontpage's where all of the sudden half of your code disappears when you scroll down. But this is pure code. New enhancements since 1.2 are awesome! Better preview, and better tools!
Now if you are part of the on-going debate on which is the right way to design a website, the battle between pure code and editors will battle on for years to come, but this tool is always a plus to have. Sure use your Notepad.exe and display it proudly thats fine and dandy but there are tools to always make your site creation quicker, slicker, and to the standards of the web. Homesite is one of them!
It is definately a must have for any web designer, or programer! My friend uses Homesite for devloping all of his Perl based scripting. It is a powerful program don't pass it up!
