Several months ago, I bought my first place. The previous owner was 94 years old. While I never met her, I can make some determinations about her based clues around my new place. The first thing I could determine about her is that she was short. The peephole in the front door is set at throat level rather than eye level for me. The one indicator of her height that needed immediate changing was the shower.

When I first moved in the showerhead was on a rigid pipe that required me to bend over to get my hair or face wet. My place had been built in the early 70s and I get the feeling the showerhead had not been replaced in that time. It was a single function showerhead that had grown to be low-flow due to build up and corrosion. It was time for a change.
I went to my local Home Depot and felt a bit overwhelmed by the choices. I decided on the Delta 5-spray 2-in1 Chrome Massaging Handheld showerhead with a 6-foot hose for a number of reasons.
The hose was the first thing I knew I wanted. Of course, I would be moving the showerhead up so I could have water coming from overhead. I wanted the freedom of the hose to be able to get to all the nooks and crannies that a mounted shower cannot reach. Being able to reach all my bits and bobs without excessive acrobatics was a huge plus.
The 2-in-1 part was something I did not consider until I saw it. The center part is attached to the hose. This is what I was originally considering when I wanted a showerhead on a hose. Instead of just clipping into a plastic holder, it clips into the center of a ring that acts as a showerhead, too. A dial on the side allows me to have all the water come through the ring, through the movable head or through the two in combination.
There is one problem with the a showerhead on a hose. The problem is that while you aim the water at your lower portions, your upper parts can suffer the chill of evaporation. With this secondary water source, it is possible to direct water to the lower parts while still keeping a warm flow running over the upper parts.
The water pressure is okay when using both parts, but is definitely better when opting for one or the other section. When I lock the piece on the hose into the ring, I often change over to just having water through one source for the maximum water pressure.
Besides allowing the water to come from different sources, I can also choose different spray patterns. This showerhead allows a pulsing massage, an all-over spray, and a narrow spray pattern.
Of all the rooms in my place, my bathroom is my favorite. A big part of that is having a shower tall enough to wash the top of my head and flexible enough to wash all the other parts. If I had a second bathroom, I would happily buy this same showerhead for it.
