I am a huge fan of the Disney Couture brand jewelry although I stay away from character jewelry (like Tinkerbell and Mickey Mouse). By far, my favorite pieces include the skull and cross bone, Fantasy, Believe, and Wish pieces. I own the Fantasy necklaces in gold and silver and the earrings in both colors as well. The Disney Couture Inspirational Fantasy Hoop Earrings come in both colors and are just gorgeous. I am a writer and my fantasies have turned into income and inspiration for me so these earrings (and the necklaces) have a special meaning to me. Besides that, they are very well made and so unique!

About the Earrings

This listing doesn't say whether it is for the gold or silver version of the Disney Couture Inspirational Fantasy Hoop Earrings but I have both so I can easily tell you about them and let you decide which color you prefer.

These hoop earrings are secured with a wire and prong making them completely round in the ear. You just insert the wire and press it down into the two pronged lock in the back. They stay secure and don't open up unexpectedly. At least, they haven't yet.

They are 1.6" around which is considered medium size in hoops. The hoops are plated in the color of your choosing and are very shiny. Written inside from side to side is the word "fantasy" in a scrolled lower case font which matches the necklaces. The word is easily readable when worn on the ears.

The hoops are fairly thin but definitely sturdy. The ear wires are sturdy as well. Some bend easily but these don't. The earrings do dangle and move when you move your head but because they aren't heavy, they don't cause issues.

My Experience

Like I said, the word "fantasy" is somewhat special to me for a variety of reasons. I believe we all have fantasies and they fuel our actions. I channel mine into my writing and enjoy every minute of it. I think everyone should take some time to let their mind wander and to go to the world of fantasy.

These earrings are simply an extension of my feelings for the word. They are beautifully crafted, as all Disney Couture jewelry is, and come in a pretty deep purple drawstring silk bag with gold lettering and a gold string. It adds a touch of sophistication to the earrings.

The thing about DC jewelry is that is generally limited edition. Once it's gone, it's gone for good. They are always generating new pieces to coincide with movies or characters and sayings. I wanted to be sure I had the Fantasy earrings and necklaces before they were gone.

Both the gold and silver are striking. They shine and have a bit of sparkle although they don't have rhinestones or any bling to them. The scrolled word is the bling and it says it all.

I have worn my Disney Disney Couture Inspirational Fantasy Hoop Earrings many times and have never had any issues with them opening or tarnishing. I clean them with a jewelry cloth but they have held up just fine. I love them. I would be so crushed if I lost one and couldn't replace it.

At this writing, both colors are available but they're being phased out by Disney and are discounted meaning soon, they will gone for good.

I may have to buy back ups!

The price for the silver ones are a bit more espensive than the gold for some reason. The gold earrings are only around $17.00 to $20.00. The silver are around $21.00-$26.00. These are marked down from $35.00. 

The Verdict

I LOVE my Disney Couture Inspirational Fantasy Hoop Earrings in both silver and gold. tTey're very dear to me. Meaning aside, these earrings are very well made and unique. They give a message in pretty scrolling lowercase script that is readable but not obnoxiously large. The hoops themselves are a great size too. The only thing I worry about (although unfounded thus far) is the wire and prong cclosure. Sometimes wires can come loose from the double prong holding them and the earrings can fall off. I haven't had that issue but I do worry that it may happen. But, in order to have a continuous round hoop, the closure is really the only one that could be used. I am going with 4 stars ONLY because I am a tad bit leery of the backing. Otherwise, these are fabulous earrings and among my favorites.
