I normally use dye and scent free laundry detergent because in the past I have stained clothing when I poured blue colored detergent onto my clothes.  This happens when I don't take the time to add the detergent to the water in my washer before adding our clothes.

Some of the scented laundry products on the market today are amazing, they smell so nice.  The types of fabric softeners I use the most are dryer sheets.  I have tried most of the "natural" versions out there and I can't say I am as satisfied with them.

Downy Simple Pleasures was purchased for one reason, I could smell the Lavender Serenity scent through the box and I loved it.  Lavender is one of my favorite fragrances, but this product doesn't really smell like lavender.  Instead it is a blend of vanilla, lavender, peach and Valencia orange.  It smells amazing.

The sheets measure 6.4 inches by 9 inches, and the two ends are folded under.  I always open them up before I toss one into the dryer.  I like the way the box closes, it stays shut and I've had issues with other brands not staying closed and most of the remaining dryer sheets lost some of their scent by the time the box was 2/3 gone.

Downy promises that their Lavender Serenity dryer sheets will give clothes a boost of freshness and softness, as well as control static cling.  They do control static cling well, I have no static cling when I use these in my dryer.  However, even though the sheets have a very strong fragrance going into the dryer, I don't notice that same fragrance when I take my clothes out of the dryer.  They are lightly scented, but the scent does not last and it isn't noticeable when I wear my clothes.

I have the box sitting on a table next to me right now as I am reviewing this product, and the scent is VERY strong.  Almost too strong for me.  They do a good job of making my laundry room smell nice, and since that's where I keep the cat litter box this is a nice benefit to using these dryer sheets.

As far as softness goes, these do provide some softness, but it's more noticeable on certain clothes.  My sweaters and all of our socks come out of the dryer extremely soft.  My husbands shirts are generally fairly soft.  But our jeans really aren't very soft.  They aren't as stiff when the dryer sheets are used, but I can't say they are real soft.

The scent is difficult to describe.  It reminds me of the fragrance that greets us when we get off the airplane in Hawaii.  It's a very sweet and floral fragrance that I find pleasant. 

Based on my experience, I would purchase these dryer sheets again.
