NVIDIA GeForce 6200
NVIDIA introduces the GeForce 6200 GPUs, featuring a revolutionary design that delivers best-in-class performance on today’s hottest games and applications. The only GPU in its class to support Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0 Shader Model 3.0, the GeForce 6200 powers the latest effects without compromising performance.

CineFX 3.0 Engine
Powers the next generation of cinematic realism. Full support for Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0 Shader Model 3.0 enables stunning and complex special effects. Next-generation shader architecture delivers faster and smoother gameplay.

UltraShadow II Technology
Enhances the performance of bleeding-edge games, like id Software's Doom III, that feature complex scenes with multiple light sources and objects. Second-generation technology delivers more than 4× the shadow processing power over the previous generation.

Intellisample 3.0 Technology
The industry’s fastest and highest quality antialiasing delivers ultra-realistic visuals, with no jagged edges, at lightning-fast speeds. Extends performance and quality gains to higher resolutions and antialiasing levels.

NVIDIA PureVideo Technology
Today, consumers are demanding smooth, high-quality DVD playback and stutter-free, high-definition (HD) viewing for a home theater experience driven by their PC. And the only way to achieve this is with NVIDIA® PureVideo™ technology, part of the GeForce™ 6 Series of GPUs.

Unified Driver Architecture (UDA)
Part of the NVIDIA Forceware unified software environment (USE). The NVIDIA UDA guarantees forward and backward compatibility with software drivers. Simplifies upgrading to a new NVIDIA product because all NVIDIA products work with the same driver software.

Digital Vibrance Control (DVC)
Allows the user to adjust color controls digitally to compensate for the lighting conditions of their workspace, in order to achieve accurate, bright colors in all conditions.

nView Multi-Display Technology
The nView hardware and software technology combination delivers maximum flexibility for multi-display options, and provides unprecedented end-user control of the desktop experience.

AGP 8X
Provides double the bandwidth of AGP 4Xר.1GB/sec. vs. 1.1BG/sec. AGP 8X enables more complex models and detailed textures, creating richer and more lifelike environments. Uninterrupted data flow allows for smoother video streaming and faster, more seamless gameplay.

Why a New Video card

Since I was getting a new monitor to replace my 17" which stopped working. I needed a new video card as the video card in my other PC is not working in fact I will have to get a RMA and get a replacement. I looked in the TigerDirect website as this is the primary place where I get my computer parts. I looked at several video cards and of course the prices. I then looked up reviews on all the video cards. I finally chose the eVGA FX 6200 with 256 meg DDR memory. There were several reasons I chose this one.
1 Price at $75 to me it was priced just right
2 According to some of the reviews this is a very good video card
3 It has Dual Ramdacs which means I can use 2 displays and have each displaying something different-I can also set the resolution/Hz different according to the monitors needs.
4 Directx 9.0c compatible
5 It has LDDM drivers for Vista

Installing

Once I received the video card, I removed all drivers and software pertaining to the previous card. I then turned off the PC also removing the power cord. Opened the case, installed the video card replacing the other. Closed the case up, plugging the power back in. Reason I remove the power cord is that even when the computer is off there are still voltages inside. I do not like to take chances.
Turning the power back on, I had already gone to the manufacturer's site and got the latest drivers for my card.. For several days I ran with just my new 19"(18"viewable) CRT monitor.

Using

For several days I ran this way checking the the new video card/monitor out.
Today I installed my 15"(14" viewable) next to the 19", Now I like to watch TV or DVD movies while surfing the Internet or writing reviews or other things. Before I would surf the Internet or whatever with the TV/DVD movies running behind what I was doing or have my other computer running and do one or the other on that. Now with this I can have a DVD or TV on one display while I write this review on the other.

Benchmarks

Now for Benchmarks I like using Fresh Diagnose which is a free program . It's primary program is to tell you just about everything you might need to know about your computer. It will also Benchmark just about everything in your computer. It is also a free program available for personal use.
Now a display benchmark will run a bunch of different patterns to the video card measuring how many the video card will do in a certain number of seconds. I will give the performance of 2 video cards. This one FX6200 and FX5200. II believe you will see I made a good choice.
1 Random Pixels per seconds 2 Lines KPixels per second 3 Circles Circles per seconds and so forth

4 Rectangles 5 Texts 6 Draw

FX6200
1 1,166 KPixels/s
2 468,333 KLines/s
3 35,831 Circles/s
4 148,261 Rectangles/s
5 2,210,535 Chars/s
6 118,305 KPixels/s

FX5200

1 466 KP/s
2 334,333 KL/s
3 27,790 C/s
4 164,098 R/s
5 1,092,612 C/s
6 53,588 KP/s

Benchmarks can only tell you so much. This is a fairly fast video card but there are newer ones. As can be seen I think I made a pretty good choice. This card also works pretty good with Windows Vista so far.

Gaming
Now I'm not a gamer, so I cannot tell you how it would do with games. Nor do I use Adobe Photoshop. But I did some research on all the newest PC Games I could find. On every thing I read of them, this video card will handle it. I even checked file planet which has many of the beta games that are being developed.

WMP HD
I like to watch TV and DVD movies. Movie makers are coming out with a new format called High Definition format. In the last 1 1/2 year , I have been testing video cards. None have been able to play those movies till I got this card also the system I have now.
