| Guildencrantz's Full Review: Middlebury College |
Well I was born and raised in Vermont so I learned what a good school Middlebury College was at an early age. My mother always told me that Middlebury was one of the top schools and pushed me to get the grades so I could get in. Well I admit that Middlebury has great academics, but I wouldn't want to spend four years there.
In the quaint town of Middlebury, Vermont Middlebury College is a very attractive school. The town of Middlebury is also what people would consider to be a "quintessential New England town". With the white trim on the buildings and the gazebo in the park Middlebury looks great and actually has some nice little shops. The problem is there is not a whole heck of a lot to do for a college student. Middlebury does not count as a city and Burlington is too far away for most people, unless they have a car.
If you are too stay on the campus things are fairly nice. There is a lot of open grass on the rolling hills of the campus, and the brick buildings are very nice. Although the insides of the dorms are nice they are a bit darker, and smaller, than many that I have seen and lived in. The one great thing that Middlebury College does have is the swing set. Tulane is lacking swings and this is greatly disappointing to me.
Okay, so things in this review have been a bit choppy. What it all comes down to is that Middlebury has great academics and a very nice campus, as well as being in a beautiful town, but it is not the most fun place in the world. As a matter of fact Vermont is not a very fun place unless you are close to a ski resort, and the Snowbowl does not count.
