Immediately after graduating with my A.A.S. in nursing I enrolled in Mount Saint Mary College Nursing program (B.S.N.). Most of my credits were transferrable.
I did not live on campus but, from my peers, I could tell they were having lots of fun. I lived in my own apartment and worked part-time so that I would have health benefits, enrich my nursing skills and most of all be on my own. The thought of living with other girls did not appeal, I always had my own room, and I didn't want to adjust.
Because of the above I qualified for the accelerated program. I loved it, I would be able to graduate in two years or less depending on my credit load per module. I had to maintain full time status due to a scholarship I won. It was difficult at times, carrying a full 12-16 credits, working, studying...etc. I made it through the first year and summer all passing but not up to my standards. I quit for personal reasons but I have always planned on returning.
My advisor was fabulous, asked me questions about myself and my abilities and my future.
The Nursing program was great and I cannot wait to return...even if it is ten years later!...
As an aside, they host an annual children's expo. I enjoy attending this event.
