If you do not have time to go to a physical classroom every week, why don't you try NU online programs? If you are interested in the liberal arts, business, leadership and technology, NU.edu is what you need. Well, that is exactly what I found out that I needed when I joined the online programs. With three kids in tow and a full-time job that pays the bills, I could not afford to be a regular student. However, I knew that I could make time to study and do the work while I am supervising the kids and taking them to their practices. NU.edu was what I needed to start the master of science program in leadership. Now that I have completed the program, I have a lot to say about what I've liked and disliked.
When I started the program, I paid 1,200 per class. I had a class a month. That was feasible. I did not look back. I studied and tried to be ready for the Blackboard encounter twice a week. I had to read the assigned chapters ahead of time. In addition, I had to post in response to the professor's posts in the discussion board. In addition, there were exercises to complete and turn in on a timely manner. I did not pay too much attention to the few students who entered the program without a solid business background. Without any doubt,t hey were complaining about some of the assignments. Some of them did struggle. Others like me had a smooth sailing. We also managed to help them. Ah! the beauty of the Internet! During the duration of the program, we worked in groups and teams. I managed to know quite a few students. I still stay in touch with most of them. Each one of them was a professional in his/her own field. They were attracted to the Leadership Program for good reasons. I will just add that it is a business-based program with classes such as Finance for managers, Leadership Principles, managing information tech, organizational design etc. The one-course-per-month format worked for me. NU expands online learning to make higher education accessible to those with very busy schedules and fast-paced lives.
For those of you who are not familiar with National University, here are the facts:
*National University is the largest private university in California (USC is first)
*It is the third largest graduate program in the nation
*It is first in California in recommending candidates for teaching credentials
*It is first in granting master's degrees to African-Americans and Hispanics.
In its online programs, National University uses a combination of Blackboard and iLinc which is really Voice Over Internet Protocol. It was implemented by the School of Business and Management for teaching courses in the Masters in Public Administration program. iLinc has been used in dozens of distance education classes, providing small groups of students in National University's academic centers with access to many of the school's degree programs that would not otherwise be available to them. The text-based Blackboard chat and live two way voice and visual interaction help simplify things a whole lot.
If you are looking to complete a master's degree, you may want to think about Nu.edu
