NYIT opened in 1955 and operates three colleges. One in Manhattan and two in Long Island, NY. Each campus is different so do your research before you decide on which one to attend. The Manhattan campus is beautiful but crowded, something you should expect in New York City. However, look at the community outside the campus and you will find diversity, clubs, parks, museums, and everything that is NY. It is expensive but people already know that it is expensive to live in NY so don't cry when you find out how much you need to pay for rent. This school is fully accredited, no question on that.
Ellis College was added in 2003. NYIT's online school consists of the School of Business and Technology and School of Arts and Science. They offer undergrad and graduate degree programs online. This is great for busy professionals, military (they receive 20% tuition discount), and people who wants quality education without giving up their work. I personally am signed up for MBA with emphasis in Human Resource Mngt and I am really glad that I found this school. Ellis College gave me the opportunity to attend NYIT without having to relocate and give up my job. The professors work in their field and have doctoral degrees. The Business School is also accredited with International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education. Don't let negative reviews deter you from applying with the school because over 11000 students currently attend NYIT and that many students pursuing their degree here means a lot more than a handful of negative reviews. Make your own journey and don't let others dictate your decision. If you think it is expensive, check other private universities and you will see that there are a lot more out there that charges more than NYIT (even Univ of Phoenix, 1834 per 3 credit class for their online program, University of Massachusetts in Amherst 2100 per 3 credit class in their graduate degree online).
