I am honored to be able to study here at O.B.U. It is my second year and I am a multilingual communication major. This university affords experiences that I realize I could not have elsewhere. For instance three days ago I went to the Bean and Berry cafe to meet for the French cafe Fridays. No other students showed up for this extra-curricular activity and so it was only Dr. Chancellor (my French professor) and I. We sat at that cafe for nearly two hours discussing life in the French language.
Earlier that day in my Western Civilization class my teacher of the History section of Civ. said to the class of about 30 students "Education is one of the greatest gifts that God has given us" as he began to weep with the conviction he has to educate his students.
It is not uncommon for Professors to walk along with you as you go to class and take interest in your life, and this allows for a person who is truly interested in maturing their understanding of the world to have access to professors on much more than the professional level. The professors work together to incorporate the learning of one field into all the others and I have been dissatisfied with few aspects of O.B.U.
It is understood that not all students are seeking Christian education, but if you are a student interested in an non-bigoted, caring, and challenging environment, I can think of few places as well suited as O.B.U.
