The residence halls at SWT are inadequate! Now, I know that a lot of them are getting renovated this summer, but after living on campus for three years, I have a bad opinion of their dorms! First, a lot of them are falling apart! A fresh coat of paint and some light work will help that. Second, the rooms are too small! Go look at your closet.... Ok, that's how big your side of the room is going to be. Let me give you another example, do you remember Bruce Willis' apartment in the 5th element. It looked like a one car garage, right? Well, cut that in half and that's about the size of the rooms.
Where should you live: The tower has a nice layout (though I haven't seen it in three years) Positive- semiprivate bathroom Negative- Sleeping area is still kind of small, but livable. Bexar Hall has a nice large room. I never lived there, but my husband (then boyfriend) did and he actually had his own bathroom. The best hall is Blanco. Man, you get your own bathroom, enough furniture to put all of your stuff on and a large enough room!
Where shouldn't you live: Falls Hall; I was actually an RA there, so I saw things that the normal student wouldn't see, but you can't miss the weekly throw up in the lobby. The showers that worked were adequate. Jackson; I never lived there, but a hall that is nicknamed "the ghetto" cannot be good. Arnold; now arnold isn't completely bad. It has a nice atmosphere, the RAs leave you alone and it's right next to the library, computer lab and student center. But the rooms are tiny and the bathrooms are the worse! When you are showering, there is nothing but a shower curtain between your naked body and any creep off of the street. There are no shower doors or anything, just curtains. There is also no where to put your clothes so you have to put them on the floor and hope they don't get stolen.
