When I was a senior in high school and trying to decide what dorm I should live in at UNL, I had no clue. None of my friends came to UNL so I had no clue which dorms were "cool" and which ones sucked. I chose Abel simply because it's the largest and it seemed to be a party dorm. And now that I'm here, I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Some aspects of Abel:
--it's the largest dorm at UNL with 13 floors with about 90 students/floor
--all floors are coed except the 6th floor
--each floor has two hallways with girls on one half and guys on the other. There isn't much division between the sexes.
--the food isn't the best, but none of the food is good at college.
There are a lot of choices when you're looking at dorms at UNL. Abel is the biggest and can be crazy. Sandoz Hall is all girls and I think a lot of sorority girls live there. Sandoz has very nice and clean facilities though. Selleck Quadrangle has the best food and the best location but it's not as social and there are some weird people who live there. Harper Hall is all guys, many athletes live there. Smith is all girls, and again, many female athletes live there. Schramm is coed and is kind of in the middle of nowhere. Cather Hall and Pound Hall mostly have upperclassmen and they can be very quiet. Finally, Neidhardt is for honors students and most of us refer to it as "Nerd-hart".
