| jt1013's Full Review: University of Nebraska-Lincoln |
My personal experience as a student at the Western Division of the University of Nebraska was a memorable one. Our class, the 1991 one, was the second Nursing Class to graduate from this new program. A previous 3 year program, although successful, was not continued. We were a part of a growing trend to provide the community with well rounded nurses, having experienced superior clinical and didatic instruction. Our entrance requirements were rigorous and thorough.
I loved the experience of meeting new people, making new friends and having the priviledge of excellent instructors as we learned to become nurses. I also loved the fact that I could meet pre-nursing requirements at the local community college. It was very convenient to travel from my hometown of Kimball, Ne to affordable classes. I loved being rewarded for my consistent efforts of meeting course requirements by being awarded an academic scholarship as I tried to meet financial obligations for the school.
Everyone that desires to make a difference in the healthcare world should attend this program. There is so need to travel all the way to the eastern side of the state when the western side offers the same superior nursing program. Expect to work hard and take no shortcuts. You will be rewarded.
This school's cirriculum is very structured but there is a certain safety in structure. Just embrace it and see your life grow and unfold. You will be on your way to becoming a professional.
