Pros: Great location, very nice dorm. Friendly atmosphere.
Cons: Tiny rooms.
This is about the Cate Dorms in general - specifically the honors dorms. One needn't be an honor student to live in these dorms, as a matter of fact, it is almost half non-honor students. It is a great dorm and a horrible dorm depending on what is important to you. I enjoyed it because it suited my needs perfectly, but let me explain.
This dorm is the closest dorm to the majority of classes on campus.
A maid that cleans your bathroom (albeit, community bathrooms)
Since it is the honors dorm there are always people available to help you with homework and such.
A private library, computer lab, and lounges soley for this dorm.
If you happen to be an honor student at least one of your classes will be in your dorm.
If you happen to be an honor student your adviser will be in your dorm.
Many good restaurants nearby - Taco Mayo, Block and Barrel (subway place), Olivers Pizza. Also there is a grocery store nearby.
Rooms have there own thermostats and have nice new desks.
All in all, it is a new, nice dorm with convenience being the strongest good quality.
Rooms are tiny. Smallest rooms on campus.
Most of the social life in the dorms revolves around computer games.
Best quality - convenient location.
Worst quality - very small rooms.
If you want to be as close as possible to classes and such - this dorm is for you, if you want to be in the party crowd and have a larger room - try walker or adams tower.
