Is Penn all it's cracked up to be?

I have been here at UPenn for a little over a year and a half. I have mixed feelings about the school, in general, which I hope to better explain here.
First I will start with the things that disappointed me. First the financial aid. The only aid I received was in loans, which I knew disappointed my parents. Seems as though they have saved some money, and even though they are both retired on a fixed income, Penn feels they have enough money to foot the bill. It's just a shame when you see people who have more money than you, but get more aid. I guess this isn't Penn's fault, but was still a bummer. I got into Penn early decision, and some say since you are bound to the school, they do what they want to the financial aid. Don't know if this is true or not but I would think it might be something to consider.
Secondly, arriving on campus I was surprised just how similar this Ivy League school was to my high school. Seemed as though it was almost identical, with a few international students thrown in for flavor. It doesn't seem very diverse, but that is my opinion. Everyone, ok, most guys here seem straight out of an Abercrombie and Fitch ad, and the girls all have their favorite pair of black pants.
I guess some of the social aspects surprised me, but it isn't a bad place, just wasn't what I was expecting.
On the other hand, academics here are great. I am in the engineering program here, and although it's the hardest curriculm of the 3 schools, I love that I can take classes at Wharton and in the college that still count towards graduating. I have had the most amazing professors, the blew my head away.
All in all, I love Penn. The social life is great, but just different than what i had always imagined college to be like. The thing I have been most impressed with is the quality of the professors.
