Do you want a really good school to attend to reach your educational goals? The University of Phoenix (UOP) may be exactly what you're looking for. UOP is a no nonsense school of higher education that cuts out the frills and concentrates on what the adult students needs to rise in his or her chosen profession.
Administration is responsive and the instructors are top notch. Many hold PhD's in the subject being taught some are lawyers, but all have at least a masters degree in the subject.
UOP is not a correspondence program. It is a fully accredited University that demands work just like traditional institutions of higher learning.
The classes tend to be small. The facilities and equipment are outstanding. Learning teams of 3-5 students each are an important part of the curriculum. In addition to 4 hours of class each Wednesday the learning teams get together 4 hours each week to prepare for and present class projects.
I've been enrolled at the University of Phoenix, Jacksonville Florida Campus since February, 2000. I'm attending their Master of Science in Nursing Program. My class has 10 students. The smallness of the class has helped us to become very close and cooperative in our individual but collective effort to graduate. The class size also contributes to a great atmosphere for networking and generating excellent debates and discussions. We genuinely care about each others success.
The UOP is geared for the adult student with limited time such as a hectic work schedule or for the single parent. If you're interested in social programs or athletics UOP is not the place to go.
The quality of the education and caliber of students represented makes UOP one of the finest institutions I have had the opportunity to attend.
The atmosphere of UOP would not be attractive to an immature person or a person who is not highly self-motivated.
