Pros: beautiful area, lots of outdoor opportunities

Cons: small, relatively obscure school

USU is not for everyone. As a relatively small, public institution USU offers small class sizes, more conducive to both teaching and learning. The outlying areas of Cache Valley provide ample space for hiking in beautiful Logan canyon, camping on the Wellsville mountain range, kayaking, and any other outdoor activities, including several ski resorts for winter fun. USU's Engineering and Education programs are nationally acclaimed, and instructors are generally very friendly and helpful. The school is perfect for undergraduate work, but is not recommended for graduate studies. It is also not recommended for those wishing to "party," considering the large religious contingent of the population attending the school.
