Pros:Beautiful campus, nice peoples, lots of clubs and events.
Cons:Cost, Lack of Jobs
The Bottom Line: Great school. Everyone should give it a chance.
When I came to Willamette from California I was nervous about Oregon and the new experience. But, as the years have gone by I have grown to absolutely love it.
Willamette and Salem has so much to offer.
Within walking distance is a mall, two Starbucks, a bookstore, a movie theater, as well as multiple cute stores and local businesses.
Not only is the area never boring, but the campus itself has lots to offer. There are dozens and dozens of clubs to join. The intramural program is fantastic with coed and single sex teams.
On the weekends, the campus shows new release movies, heads dances and bring distinguished speakers to talk to the students. Last year Colin Powell came and all the Willamette students were able to come listen for free.
The food is actually very good. The lunch options are delicious and healthy as well. There is always a sandwich bar, a burger/grilled cheese area and a salad bar at all times during lunch.
The one downside to Willamette is the cost. While I did earn a merit scholarship when I applied, the cost was still overwhelming. Also, if you are not on work study is very difficult to find an on-campus job.
Willamette is a great school with the nicest people and full of excellent opportunities.
